As you know, Darryl Sutter's journey in Calgary didn't end well. The organization was forced to fire him after many players announced they wouldn't be back if he was still the coach.

A former Flames player opened up about Sutter.

Toffoli Reveals Shocking Details

Toffoli joined the Flames at the 2022 trade deadline.

In an interview on the Spittin' Chicklets podcast, Toffoli shared a few anecdotes.

"I Guess We Have to Go to Winsport Tomorrow..."

If you didn't know, the Flames don't really have a practice rink outside of the Saddledome. However, when they couldn't use it, they'd travel to Winsport on the west side of town to train.

Here's what Toffoli said:

«But we'd have a bad game or a bad first period,» recalled Toffoli. «During the game, he'd be walking back and forth mumbling 'I guess we have to go to Winsport tomorrow. You guys want to go practice at Winsport.' It's only the first period. It's 0-0. We have like 15 shots and they have 3, and he's chirping guys on the bench, 'I guess we have to go to Winsport tomorrow'"

He also talked about Sutter's mind games with the goaltenders:

«It'd be 0-0, and he'd come in and tell Vladdy, [Dan] Vladar, to get ready to go in,» said Toffoli. «We're looking. It's 0-0. 'Oh Marky's not ready to play tonight.' We're looking, we're like, there's a reason it's 0-0, he has 10 saves. We haven't touched the puck this whole period. Little things like that. As you said, it's all mind games. He's just trying to get guys going. I guess it happened in LA too. It just started to wear on guys and the change happened.»

We hope that more players come forward to reveal Darryl Sutter's true personality.

This only proves that the old coach isn't suited for today's NHL...
