After five years away from the game, it has now been officially confirmed that Peter Holland, who last played in 2017-18 with New York will now be getting a professional tryout in Colorado.
The Avalanche are a top-heavy team filled with talent, and just 18 months removed from their third Stanley Cup in franchise history, it appears they're willing to try anything to fill out this roster.
Hollad was a first-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks way back in 2009 at No. 15 overall, and after 266 games and just 85 points at the NHL level, he retired following a four point season with the Rangers.
Now, at 32-yeasr old, the Ontario native is preparing to make a comeback, and while it's highly unlikely he can crack a top-nine spot for the Avalanche this year, his veteran presence could be helpful down the lineup, so don't discount him yet.
