After 13 seasons in the NHL, Ottawa Senators forward Artem Anisimov is going home. According to Sport-express.ru, Anisimov, who is an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, has already agreed to a contract with his hometown team Yaroslavl Lokomotiv for next season.

Anisimov, a former 2nd round pick of the New York Rangers, has had a fairly successful career. However, this season has been by far his worst since breaking into the league in 2008-09, with just two goals and eight points in 18 games with the Sens. Anisimov has been plagued by injuries this season and has also spent some time as a healthy scratch.

Anisimov left New York in 2012 as he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets. In 2015, he would be sent to the Chicago Blackhawks, where he would play another four seasons before being traded to Ottawa. Anisimov has hit the 20-goal mark four times his is career, most recently as a member of the Blackhawks in 2017-18. He played for Lokomotiv during the 2012 NHL lockout.

Anisimov is 32. At this point, a return to the NHL after next season is doubtful.
