Craig Berube had an interview with a Canadian team and it's not the Toronto Maple Leafs!

Berube, considered by most of the hockey community to be an ideal fit to replace Sheldon Keefe, met twice with the Leafs' management in the past few days.

Darren Dreger confirmed it on TSN 1050:

"dreger on tsn1050 says the leafs met with berube on saturday *and* parts of yesterday

with other teams seemingly pivoting to other options, and the leafs meeting with berube twice, really feels like treliving has his guy"

However, according to a development, Berube will meet with another Canadian team looking for a head coach: the Winnipeg Jets.

Indeed, we learned from Frank Seravalli that Berube is set to have a meeting with the Jets organization.

Here's what he wrote on X:

"Sounds like Craig Berube is scheduled to be in Winnipeg today to interview with #gojetsgo.

After significant time spent with #LeafsForever, #njdevils and #goSENSgo, he is the most in-demand coach this hiring cycle. Could he steer #nhljets away from Scott Arniel?"

The Jets are looking to replace Rick Bowness, who announced his retirement shortly after the Jets' disappointing first-round elimination at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche earlier this month.

It looks like Berube will have a few options to consider before we know his next destination.
