The Edmonton Oilers have won again, improving their record on the season to 5-0-0. Leon Draisaitl scored twice, while Connor McDavid had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over the New York Rangers today. In the process, the Oilers become the first team in the history of the NHL to win their first five games after trailing in each and every one of them.

The importance of the hot start can't be understated as Edmonton is looking to get back in the playoff hunt after missing the post-season the last two years. There's no telling whether the wins will last, but for now, the Oilers can be happy with snagging 10 of 10 possible points in the first five games of the season.

The last time Edmonton went 5 and 0 to start a season was 1984. The Oilers would beat Philadelphia four games to one in the finals to win their second Stanley Cup.
