A 15-year-old boy and 29-year-old former soccer club vice president Pawel Duszynski have been arrested and are facing serious charges after Finnish hockey player Jaakko Turtiainen was attacked while warming up for a game with HC GKS Katowice of the Polish Hockey League, the top level of hockey in the country.

The attack happened a week ago and, luckily, 28-year-old Turtiainen was not seriously hurt. Turtiainen was doing some exercising on a sidewalk in front of the home arena of JKH GKS Jastrzębie when he was hit in the back of the head and a scuffle took place. Two people made off with his hoodie in the attack.

Now Polish media reports the two people arrested in the incident are a 15-year-old boy, and Duszynski, who had been serving as the vice-president of GKS Jastrzębie, a soccer club playing in the Polish Second League. The boy is being held in a youth facility, while Duszynski is facing up to 12 years in prison.

GKS Jastrzębie Football Club released the following statement: "The club informs that by decision of the Supervisory Board Paweł D., on October 9th, 2019 was dismissed from the position of the Vice President of the Sports Club."

After the attack, the two hockey teams decided to cancel their game that night in order for Turtiainen to be properly checked at hospital. The game will be made up at a later date.

None of the articles we could find talks about any possible motive for the attack other than robbery.
