Former Vancouver Canucks and Anaheim Ducks defenseman Kevin Bieksa has not played in the NHL since the 2017-2018 season, but when he saw himself on the Men's Canadian Olympic team roster that was leaked on Twitter, he had some words of confidence. Of course, the roster was determined to be a fake almost immediately, as it also featured former NHL stars Patrick Marleau, Dany Heatley, and Mike Richards.
Bieksa claims that he didn't want to sound cocky, but he thinks that he could almost guarantee that the team would medal in Beijing. He also went on to claim that the fictional team would only need a three week training camp and they would be ready to go.
The 40-year-old also didn't stop there, as he added that a famous Canadian singer could also be added to the «fifth line for optics.» Tha singer of course would be Michael Buble.
The entire fictional roster can be seen below. Even if this team didn't medal, it seems that it would definitely be a fan favorite as there are plenty of players from the past and present represented.
Not sure if this sounds cocky or not but I can almost guarantee this team would medal in Beijing.
3 week training camp and we're off!! You can even throw @MichaelBuble on the 5th line for optics. 🤔 https://t.co/uNAjOd5lib— Kevin Bieksa (@kbieksa3) January 14, 2022
