Hockey players are known for often giving very cliched responses when asked questions by reporters. From 'we gotta get pucks to the net" to "dig deep and bear down", hockey tends to have a huge number of repeated responses to questions. For Rem Pitlick of the Minnesota Wild, he gave anything but a normal response when asked about being a healthy scratch, and it seems fellow player Bobby Ryan was there for it.

"I'm a human being and I want to play," said Pitlick when asked about sitting on the sidelines even though he's not injured.

"They want to see something that is growth in my game, and I have no problem doing that," Pitlick continued. "We all have different views in life and I think that's what makes life cool. There's so many different ways to look at it. And they see it a certain way and I'm going to try to, I guess, blend it into my game, and still maintain a sense of self and how I see the game as well."

It was a very deep answer, and Ryan, who went through his own struggles during his NHL career, very much liked it.

"This was a refreshing answer," said Ryan on Twitter.

Pitlick has played in 17 games for the Wild this season, collecting five goals and 10 points. Ryan, meanwhile, is not currently playing. He is still listed as an unrestricted free agent as he has not officially announced his retirement.
