During this week's edition of the 32 Thoughts podcast, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed what the Buffalo Sabres asked for in a potential Jack Eichel trade with the Anaheim Ducks.

"I heard what the Sabres asked Anaheim for was (Trevor) Zegras, (Jamie) Drysdale, and two first-rounders. Anaheim wasn't willing to do that," Friedman said on Monday.

Ultimately, the Sabres agreed to a deal to send Eichel to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, a top-ten-protected first round pick in 2022 and a second round pick in 2023.

Friedman also added that he doesn't know if Anaheim's doctors were comfortable with allowing Eichel to have his preferred artificial disc replacement surgery to replace the herniated disc in his neck.

It's safe to say that fans of the Anaheim Ducks are extremely happy that they kept their two rookie stars, with the hopes of them bringing the Stanley Cup back to the franchise down the road.
