The Vancouver Canucks certainly haven't performed up to their standards this season, which ultimately led to the dismissal of head coach Travis Green and GM Jim Benning earlier this week, with veterans Bruce Boudreau and Jim Rutherford coming in to take over.

Since that time, the Canucks have won 3 straight to improve their record to 11-15-2 on the season and have also continued exiling executives in an attempt to rebuild their front office. Chris Gear and Jonathan Wall were the latest casualties, having been relieved of their duties on Friday by new President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford.

The Vancouver media had been critical of owner Francesco Aquilini for being unwilling to make the tough decisions and make some changes after several disappointing seasons, but now that changes have been made, some members of the media have now begun to criticize the moves that Aquilini has made - and he is less than enthused by the criticism.

"Gotta love media in Vancouver. Two weeks ago: 'What's wrong with Aquilini? Why isn't he cleaning house? Can't he see it's a disaster? Why's he so slow to act?' Two weeks later: 'Why's he moving so fast? Why's he cleaning house? Can't he see it's a bad look?' Kinda funny actually," said Aquilini on Twitter on Saturday evening.

Aquilini should know by now that there's no pleasing everyone. Perhaps the best approach is just to try to ignore the outside noise and just focus on trying to rebuild his front office and continuing the team's winning ways.

The Canucks are now winners in 5 of their last 6 games, including a pair of shootout wins against the Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday and Friday.
