Seattle Kraken general manager Ron Francis has been a very busy man over the past couple of months. After building a team to compete in the NHL and managing everything along with it, it seems that he could be looking to add on to it very soon.
According to The Athletic's Michael Russo, Francis was spotted scouting the Minnesota Wild versus New York Islanders matchup on Sunday night. The reasoning is likely that he is looking into trading for a player on one of the teams, but who that player is has not been determined.
Many Wild fans are hoping to have Victor Rask traded, and he could get the chance to kickstart his career in Seattle as he could help with forward depth. He would seemingly also play in an expanded role which could help him get to a higher level than he was in Minnesota.
Only time will tell why he was scouting the game, but it is certainly an interesting development. The Kraken will be back in action on Tuesday versus the Vegas Golden Knights.
