A tough break for the Washington Capitals as forward Anthony Mantha is out and there's no timetable for his return right now. Mantha left Thursday night's game against the Florida Panthers in the second period and did not return after a collision with teammate John Carlson.

Washington announced Friday that Mantha has already undergone successful shoulder surgery and will be away from the team for an indefinite amount of time in order to recover. Mantha had played in 10 games with the Caps this season, scoring two goals and four assists.

To make matters worse, Washington is also missing T.J. Oshie and Nicklas Backstrom. With Mantha out for the foreseeable future, the team has recalled forward Aliaksei Protas from the Hershey Bears of the AHL.
