Hockey legend Jaromir Jagr has decided to send a message directly to fans after a terrible season so far for Kladno, which Jagr both plays for and owns. The Knights are currently 14th out of 15 teams in the Czech Extraliga with a record of 2-11-3 after 16 games. Fans of Kladno recently took to social media bashing the team and it's current stretch of play, something Jagr decided warranted a response directly from him.

Jagr started his message by expressing sadness at what he's seeing on social media.

"Some of your opinions really make me sad," said Jagr. "I understand that you all want the team to win, so do I. We've been playing away all season...we've got eight injured at the moment, two came back today after a month."

Jagr, who turns 50 in February, then took a sharp turn, sounding annoyed and fed-up with some of the things he's seeing and hearing.

"Sometimes fate doesn't favour us, but I fight on and will as long as I can. Not for myself, but for Kladno," said Jagr. "When I read the opinions of some fans, which is all bad, I sometimes say to myself if I should have given up a long time ago, we could have all been left alone. Hockey wouldn't be here anymore, believe me."

Jagr has said before that he's not sure Kladno would remain in existence without his presence on the ice due to as he believes sponsors would leave in droves. The Knights spent last season in a lower-tier league, but managed to win the championship to return to the top-tier for the Czech Republic. If Jagr's team continues to play the way it is now, relegation may be on the horizon once again.
