Earlier this week, Leafs legend Darcy Tucker took to Twitter to give a brand new face in Toronto his seal of approval in 26-year-old Michael Bunting, who has been one of the most impressive Leafs through four games to start this season.

On Thursday, another former Leaf, Shane Corson, had the opportunity to chime in on what Bunting is doing for the Leafs this season during TSN's Leafs Lunch.

"Yes, [Bunting] gets my stamp of approval," Corson said, beaming with appreciation for the feisty winger. "I think he's a really good hockey player and I'm happy to see him getting a chance, because he's not only a great hockey player.. I got to know him and he's a great kid and you like to see good kids do well."

Corson continued on to state that Bunting is exactly the type of player that the Leafs needed coming in to this season - and it's tough to argue that, especially with the loss of workhorse Zach Hyman.

Corson played a similar role for the Leafs for 3 seasons from 2000-2003, posting his best numbers with the team in the 2001-02 season, when he amassed 12 goals and 21 assists, appearing in 74 games.

Bunting appears to have much more of a scoring touch, but it's nice to see a couple of hard-nosed hockey guys vouch for him if you're a Leafs fan. The Leafs may have found a diamond in the rough in the Scarborough, Ontario native.
