2022 top draft prospect Brad Lambert is off to a slow start to his 2021-22 season with JYP in Finland's top division, Liiga. In ten games, the 17-year-old has only two points (one goal, one assist).

Lambert's slow start is similar to 2021 projected top pick Aatu Raty last year. Raty had a tough go in the first few months of the Liiga season, and he wasn't even selected to represent Finland at the 2021 World Juniors.

Now, Lambert is reportedly looking to make a drastic move, to leave Finland's top division.

According to Sportsnet's Sam Cosentino, Lambert is considering the possibility of coming over to North America and playing in the Western Hockey League for the Saskatoon Blades. The Blades selected Lambert in the first round of the 2020 CHL Import Draft.

"With just two points in 10 games and ice time hovering around 13 minutes per game, rumours are starting to swirl that Brad Lambert (No. 2 in my October draft rankings) is considering a move to the WHL. His rights are owned by the Saskatoon Blades. It would be a return home of sorts as that's where Brad's dad, Ross, played during the 1982-83 campaign. Ross was born in Kindersley, Sask." Cosentino said on Thursday.

Earlier this week, Lambert was given an A rating by NHL Central Scouting, which indicates that he is a candidate to go in the first round. Many scouts, and draft experts project that Lambert will go in the top three in 2022.
