Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Kris Letang is currently in the final year of an eight-year contract he signed back in the summer of 2013. By the time his contract expires at the end of the 2021-22 season, Letang will be 35 years old.

Despite his age, Letang told TVA Sports that he has no intentions of retiring from the NHL.

"There is a reason I have always trained so hard, that I care so much about my nutrition and that I don't leave anything to chance," Letang said. "The reason is that I want to play as long as possible. My goal is to stay at the same level as it is now for four or five years. I have no intention of slowing down."

The Montreal, Quebec native was drafted by the Penguins back in 2005, and is currently in his fifteenth year with the club. In 867 regular season games, Letang has 586 points (134 G, 452 A), 616 penalty minutes, and is a +78. Letang has won the Stanley Cup three times with Pittsburgh in 2009, 2016, and 2017.
