The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Michael Bunting to a one-year, $1.2 million deal, and it's easy to see why they went looking for help.
Gino Hard reported the signing Tuesday, calling Bunting a former 20-goal scorer.
The Flyers have scored five goals through four games.
Smart, cheap and overdue. A team this starved for offense should be kicking every tire it can find, and a one-year deal costs Daniel Briere almost nothing.
It's grabbing a space heater off the clearance rack in the middle of a cold snap. Maybe it doesn't warm the whole house, but you'll take any heat you can get.
Where does he fit? The report didn't say where he slots into Tocchet's lineup.
The photo attached to the post shows him smiling in a gold Predators sweater, with No. 58 on the helmet.

The Flyers finally make a major move after a disastrous offensive start
Travis Sanheim, Rasmus Ristolainen, Tyson Foerster, Matvei Michkov and Owen Tippett have one goal apiece, and nobody else has scored.
Travis Konecny is still looking for his first goal, with two assists.
He carries an $8,750,000 cap hit and has eight body checks, per Arsenal Sports.
Sean Couturier, at $7,750,000, also has two assists and no goals.
Philadelphia has been outscored 17-5 and sits at 0-2-2.
The Flyers were blanked 7-0 by Pittsburgh in the opener, then dropped two straight 3-2 games in overtime before Monday's 4-1 loss in Tampa Bay.
Joseph Woll is at .929 through two games, while Daniel Vladar sits at .863.
Ristolainen is listed day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, which thins the blue line too.
The Flyers also took heat this week for not answering Brandon Hagel's elbow in Monday's loss in Tampa Bay.
They visit Ottawa on Thursday and Boston on Saturday.
The Ottawa stop brings them face to face with Claude Giroux, who has two assists with the Senators.
Bunting won't fix this alone. But in a lineup where nobody has two goals yet, a player who has scored 20 before gets a real chance to play.
Can Michael Bunting fix the Flyers' scoring problem?
