Following evaluation from team doctors, the Vegas Golden Knights received good news on the status of captain
Mark Stone.
According to head coach Peter DeBoer, Stone will not require surgery for his lower-body injury, and will be out for the short term. DeBoer didn't give a specific timeline for Stone's return, but he said that he's in between day-to-day and week-to-week.
Stone, 29, was injured during Vegas' loss to the Los Angeles Kings last Thursday. The injury occurred during the second period, and Stone needed to be helped off the ice, and down the tunnel to the locker room. He missed the remainder of the game.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba native has three assists, two penalty minutes, and is a plus-two in two games this season.
