During Saturday's game between Tampa Bay and Washington, Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov suffered a lower-body injury, left the game, and did not return.

Yesterday, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com shared that the prognosis on Kucherov's injury was not good, and that he may require surgery. Later in the day, Tampa's head coach Jon Cooper said that Kucherov's injury was "not a day-to-day thing" but wouldn't reveal anything more specific.

According to Russian media outlet, Sport24, Kucherov's injury will keep him out of Tampa Bay's lineup for six-to-ten weeks.

In three games this season, the Maykop, Russia native has four points (one goal, three assists), no penalty minutes, and was a +/-0.
