Krause Sports and Entertainment issued a statement regarding The Gathering at South Forsyth after information from a community update spread across social media.
The group said claims that the NHL was in the final stages of evaluating its “financial packet” for approval of an expansion team were inaccurate.
More importantly, the statement made the league's current position clear: the NHL has made no decision regarding the South Forsyth project.
The group also acknowledged that its proposal isn't in the expansion application phase. That distinction puts a hard boundary around the excitement that had started building online.

Still, Krause and his ownership group aren't backing away. The statement reaffirmed their strong interest in making the project a reality and continuing conversations with NHL leadership.
