Brady Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers gave fans something to chew on this week, and it had nothing to do with hockey.
Asked which Canadian cities booed him hardest last season, Tkachuk rattled off Edmonton and Calgary before adding Seattle to the list.
One problem: Seattle is in Washington state, not Canada, and fans on social media wasted no time pointing that out.
It's a small gaffe in the grand scheme of things, but Tkachuk draws this kind of attention because of exactly who he is as a player.

He's loud, physical, and polarizing, the type of guy fans either love or genuinely can't stand, which means every offhand comment gets magnified.
That scrutiny only grows now that he's playing alongside brother Matthew Tkachuk in Florida for the first time in either of their careers.
Brady posted 59 points last season, 22 goals and 37 assists in 60 games, on an $8,205,714 cap hit heading into this year.
Why the real story in Florida has nothing to do with geography
Matthew managed 34 points in just 31 games last season, limited by injuries during a rough stretch for the entire organization.
Florida finished 40-38-4 and slipped to 25th overall, a real comedown after three straight trips to the Stanley Cup Final.
A geography mix-up on a podcast doesn't move the needle on any of that. Health and performance will decide whether Florida gets back to contending.
Head coach Paul Maurice needs both Tkachuks producing and available, not managing distractions born from a five-second slip of the tongue.
Is it fair that a minor slip gets this much attention? Probably not, but that's the tradeoff that comes with being this outspoken and this visible.
If both Tkachuks stay healthy and Florida returns to form, nobody's talking about Seattle by Christmas.
For now, it's a funny footnote in a season that actually matters a lot more for Florida than one player's shaky sense of geography.
