After taking massive hits from Lightning, Juraj Slafkovsky delivers bold statement
Juraj Slafkovsky stepped to the mic Tuesday with a smirk and zero patience for the concussion talk surrounding the Montreal Canadiens forward.
"Well I think I'm good, ya know? I can't really get much dumber," he said, brushing off seven games of Tampa Bay punishment with one line.
He confirmed he didn't miss any time during the first-round series. The protocol happened. He cleared it. Then he kept playing.
That matters because Round 2 starts tonight in Buffalo. The Habs and Sabres drop the puck on a fresh series after Montreal eliminated the Lightning 4-3 last Sunday.
Slafkovsky finished the Tampa series with 3 goals, 0 assists, and a -4 rating across 7 games. Three of those goals came on the power play.
The l5 line tells a different story. Zero points. A -1 rating. The Lightning physically wore him down, even if the Slovak winger refuses to admit it cost him anything.
