With his arbitration hearing set to take place in two days, there is a considerable gap between what the Minnesota Wild are offering Kevin Fiala and what the 25-year-old forward wants. According to Elliotte Friedman, the Wild have offered $4 million per season, while Fiala is asking for $6.25 million.

Fiala has had two seasons in a row where he scored at least 20 goals. The former first rounder had a career year in 2019-20, scoring 23 goals and 54 points in 64 games.

Fiala has made $3 million AAV for the past two seasons. His arbitration hearing is scheduled to take place Tuesday, unless an agreement can be reached before then. The Wild are trying to hang on to as much cap space as possible in order to re-sign restricted free agent Kirill Kaprizov.
