William Eklund pens ELC with San Jose

According to PuckPedia, the San Jose Sharks have signed their first round pick (seventh overall), William Eklund, to a three-year entry-level contract worth $2.775 million ($925k cap hit).

The contract has a base salary of $832.5k, a $92.5k signing bonus, as well as a European Assignment Clause.

Eklund, 18, spent the 2020-21 season in the Swedish Hockey League with Djurgardens IF. In 40 games, Eklund had 23 points (11 G, 12 A), two penalty minutes, and was a -2. The Haninge, Sweden native also added two points (1 G, 1 A) in three playoff games.
