It has certainly been a troubling year plus for San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane, stemming back to the reports of his sizable debts, to his ultimate bankruptcy declaration and then the very public marital issues and allegations of game-fixing and the player betting on his own games.

While Kane's legal team had advised against Kane speaking out publicly after his soon-to-be ex-wife, Anna Kane, and addressing her very serious allegations on social media, the 30-year-old did not take the advice, in turn, making things much worse for himself while Mrs. Kane continued to to blast her estranged husband on social media for several days.

In the days following the allegations, reports had begun to surface suggesting that several players in San Jose would prefer to have Kane traded rather than returning with the Sharks next season.

On Tuesday, Kane made a bit of a subtle statement when he posted a photo on Twitter, donning his San Jose Sharks gear as he was preparing himself for a skate.

Is this a silent declaration that Kane intends to be back with the Sharks next season? It would certainly appear that way.

Kane had vehemently denied the allegations that he had been gambling on his own games, with several former teammates and colleagues confirming that while Kane enjoyed betting on basketball and football, to their knowledge, he had never bet on hockey at all - at least not openly.

If Kane is comfortable enough to gear up and flash the Sharks logo on his social media account, then perhaps he is not at all concerned about the ongoing investigation into the gambling and match-fixing allegations, possibly because there isn't anything to substantiate his wife's claims. I suppose time will tell.
