Per Dubas, Leafs captain John Tavares has officially been cleared for all on-ice activities and is expected to be a full participant in Leafs training camp in September.
Tavares, 30, skated in all 56 regular season games for the Leafs in 2020-21, amassing 19 goals and 50 points before being hit hard by an accidental knee from Montreal Canadiens forward Corey Perry in Game 1 of the Leafs' first round match up against the Habs in the postseason.
Tavares lay motionless on the ice momentarily before coming to only to collapse again into the arms of Maple Leafs trainers and medical personnel while trying to get up. The former 1st overall pick was rumoured to have also suffered a knee injury on the play.
JT will be a sight for sore eyes and something to look forward to for Leafs fans when the puck drops to open the 2021-22 season after another disappointing playoff performance.
