Frank Seravalli revealed that he believes a good fit for the Oilers would be Nashville Predators' Michael McCarron, and it wouldn't cost much to acquire him.
With the trade deadline drawing closer by the day, the Edmonton Oilers will have no cap flexibility to finalize a major trade but can add to their depth potentially.
Frank Seravalli of 'Daily Faceoff' made the link of the Oilers to 6-foot-6, 232-pound center Michael McCarron of the Predators with a trade that involves the team sending a 2026 second-round pick to Nashville in order to acquire him.

McCarron is just the depth player the Oilers are in need of
McCarron, 29, is a two-goal, five-assist man with 46 games played this season, but his worth is toughness and backchecking skill instead of scoring.
"The Oilers have been looking for a fourth-line center all season long, preferably one that would provide a little speed," Seravalli wrote. "McCarron would bring an entirely different element. He's 6-foot-6, he skates well for a big man, and he would add a dash of truculence to the Oilers' lineup."
Seravalli added that although his scoring numbers are not that impressive, toughness and strength might provide him with the worthiness to serve as a valuable off-bench player, especially in the postseason.
Edmonton's ability is held back by the cap being this restrictive, which is why McCarron is among the realistic targets with the team needing to improve the bottom six to have a chance to go deep in the playoffs.
"What happens if Evander Kane isn't going to remain on LTIR for the remainder of the regular season? That means Edmonton will have very limited cap space to deal from, likely creating a dollar-in, dollar-out scenario that used to be GM Ken Holland's tagline," Seravalli wrote. "It will be difficult to add a true game-changer in that case." With just about two weeks to go until the trade deadline, the next few days are going to be very, very intriguing.
