Earlier this week, we reported that the St. Petersburgh SKA had terminated the contract of the controversial former NHLer Tony DeAngelo because the player had to attend to family matters back in North America.
While the team issued a statement confirming that this was the reason for his contract termination, a new report shed light on the real reasons behind his team's decision to part ways with him.
Indeed, in a new development, a report from MatchTV, a Russian media outlet, shed light on massive details.
We notably learned that DeAngelo was simply not liked in SKA due to his tendency to argue with everyone and his poor team spirit.

A source close to the situation told Match TV about this. And something in Latvian from coach Koreshkov (on video) in the match with Moscow Dynamo was addressed specifically to the Italian.
According to our source, DeAngelo was all about scoring. All to get bonuses. He overplayed shifts and yelled at everyone when he wasn't on the power play.
"How can you love him if all you hear from Tony is 'fuck you'? Just with 'Dynamo', returning from the ice, DeAngelo in one of the episodes again splashed out his displeasure with his favorite saying 'fuck you'. And in response, he heard a mirror response from Koreshkov."
DeAngelo put an end to his NHL journey last summer when he realized that no NHL organizations wanted him.
Sometimes, when players have enough talent, teams can overview some aspects of his personality, but he was much more annoying than talented.
He was all about scoring, but couldn't even get his performance bonuses.
The sport is better without him playing it, and hopefully, he'll never jump on an NHL rink ever again.
