The Montreal Canadiens dealt with some major injury news in their last pre-season game, and now Nick Suzuki has addressed the Patrik Laine situation, with his star forward potentially in line to miss a significant injury as the Canadiens continue to asses the former Winnipeg Jets star.

On Saturday night, the Montreal Canadiens potentially lost Patrik Laine for a significant amount of time, and it was due to career AHLer Cedric Pare, who took Laine down with a knee-on-knee collision. Arber Xhekaj would quickly get his revenge by battering Pare in the middle of the ice, and now, captain Nick Suzuki has addressed the situation, calling out what he believed to be a dirty play.
"I thought he lunged out pretty good," said Suzuki of the incident.
This was a fairly nice way to put it from the young captain, and when looking at photos of the play, it's very clear to see that if it wasn't an intentional move, it was reckless at worst, with this reply from a Canadiens fan clearly outlining how bad of a play it was from Pare.
Ultimately, given that Pare doesn't have an NHL future, there's likely going to be no repercussions for an injury causing play that may now see Montreal lose one of their most important players for a significant stretch of time. As for Suzuki, there's very little he can say or do to change what happened, but given what happened, it's safe to say that the entire team has reason to be furious.
