Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin may face suspension for dirty headshot on Blackhakws' AJ Spellacy
Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin let his anger get the better of him tonight with a dirty headshot on Chicago BlackHawks third round pick AJ Spellacy.
AJ Spellacy was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the third round of the 2024 NHL entry draft. He is a very special prospect due to his history as a division one football recruit, thus giving him extremely advanced physical skills. He can evade pressure masterfully and shrug off hits like they're nothing.
In tonight's preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings, Spellacy threw a massive hit on star Lucas Raymond, who recently signed an eight year $64.6 million contract with the team:
In retaliation, captain Dylan Larkin went after Spellacy, but ended up going for a hit to the head, which will possibly lead to an extension.
Spellacy's size and speed have been clearly noticeable in the pre-season, and he looks poised to be a great NHLer for a long time. It is sure that he is not afraid of Dylan Larkin despite this hit.
