The Edmonton Oilers most likely won't win this year's Stanley Cup, but they know how to get there. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have now confirmed their futures.

While it would be easy for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to leave the Edmonton Oilers - if Wayne Gretzky can do it, anyone can, it appears that they have both expressed desire to stay in Edmonton long term:

Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid have reportedly made it clear to the Edmonton Oilers management/owners that they have no intentions of leaving or testing free agency, and want to re-sign long-term in Edmonton. Per, Frank Seravalli.
According to Bob Stauffer, the Oilers and Draisaitl have already begun extension discussions, and Draisaitl wants to be locked up long-term, not like the Auston Matthews deal in Toronto.

Keeping Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl is massive for the Edmonton Oilers. The team will equally need to find a way to keep 1D Evan Bouchard in the process.

It is never an easy road to the Stanley Cup, but clearly Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl believe that they have the makings of a champion in Edmonton.
