The Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk was linked to one of Boston's biggest rivals on the free agent market in a new report.

The Bruins held their post-season media availabilities on Sunday, only a few days after being eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Florida Panthers. Many things came out of those interviews, but what we saw is that management will do everything to make sure the team presents a better line up at the start of next season.

Unfortunately, they could have to let go one of their top forwards: Jake DeBrusk.

Set to become a free agent on July 1st, many teams will sure look into signing him. A report from The Fourth Period states that the Toronto Maple Leafs, one of the Bruins' biggest rivals, could be interested.

Here's what they wrote:

"If DeBrusk hits the open market as a free agent in July, several teams in need of a physical top-six forward will be calling, with suitors like the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs potentially in the mix."

DeBrusk had a great year with the Bruins. He tallied 40 points in 80 games, but reached another level in the playoffs. In 13 games, he scored 11 points, making him the best scorer of the team, with one more point than captain Brad Marchand, and three more than David Pastrnak.

If the Leafs are looking to add offensive depth to their line up, DeBrusk could certainly be a part of the solution.
