The Arizona Coyotes' social media team has gone silent across all social media platforms ahead of their impending relocation, despite having played a game today.
It's been possibly the busiest week the Arizona Coyotes franchise has ever experienced, with the news of their likely sale and relocation to Salt Lake City making headlines all over the hockey world.
Throughout the entire media frenzy, the Coyotes' social media team seemed to be consistent in their belief that hockey would be staying in the desert, posting encouraging videos and plans for a future rink in Arizona. Unfortunately for the Yotes, it seems as though the social media team has either been ordered to stop posting or quit altogether.
Meruelo puts out questionable statement
This comes just one day after Coyotes Chairman and Governor Alex Meruelo put out a vague statement stating that he will provide more information when he's able to.
"THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF DISCUSSION IN RECENT DAYS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE ARIZONA COYOTES. I UNDERSTAND AND EMPATHIZE WITH THE CONCERNS OF OUR FANS, OUR COMMUNITY, OUR PARTNERS, OUR PLAYERS, OUR FRONT OFFICE, AND ALL OF OUR TEAM MEMBERS. I HOPE TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES AS SOON AS I AM ABLE TO SPEAK ON THE TOPICS.
WE ARE FOCUSED ON A MYRIAD OF ISSUES THAT ARE UNRESOLVED, AND THEREFORE WE ARE UNABLE TO MAKE ANY OFFICIAL PUBLIC COMMENTS AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER, YOU HAVE MY COMMITMENT THAT I AM GOING TO SPEAK ON ALL OF THESE ISSUES AND PUBLICLY ADDRESS ALL OF YOUR CONCERNS AS PROMPTLY AS POSSIBLE.
RESPECTFULLY,
ALEX MERUELO
CHAIRMAN & GOVERNOR"
This statement from Alex Meruelo was later found out to likely be written by artificial intelligence.
Nearing the end?
As of right now, we don't know when the next time we'll hear from the Coyotes is. For all we know, the next update we could get could be the announcement of their relocation to Utah. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more information.
