Just one season after coming out of retirement, Ilya Kovalchuk 🇷🇺 is once again retiring from professional hockey at the age of 40.

Kovalchuk had four goals, eight points through 20 games played with Spartak Moskva (KHL) 🇷🇺 this season.

It's rumoured that he could look to become a General Manager of a team in Russia.

According to the report from Sport Business Gazeta, Kovalchuk is looking to move into a front office role as he is expected to chase a General Manager role for a team in Russia. The 40-year old last played in the NHL in 2020 with the Washington Capitals, and even though he showed that he still has it, it appears as though this is officially the end for the former Atlanta Thrasher.
