Pittsburgh Penguins GM Kyle Dubas has had enough of the critics, it seems. He took a public shot at one of them following a major achievement by Sidney Crosby.

Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby tied Wayne Gretzky's record last night with his 19th straight season averaging a point per game.

"Spoke with Sidney Crosby about tying Wayne Gretzky's point per game seasons record, the weird Erik Karlsson penalty and his run in with Igor Shesterkin."

The personal milestone for Sidney Crosby comes amid a disappointing season for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Kyle Dubas, who was hired as President of Hockey Operations with the Pittsburgh Penguins in June of 2023. With the team poised to miss the playoffs again, analysts and critics have been hard on Dubas and his failure to take the Penguins back to the post season. One of the decided to use Crosby's achievement to take a shot at the GM.

"Not to be pedantic, ok fine to be pedantic. Points-per-game is a rate stat. Are the Penguins just going to sit him the rest of the year lol."

To which Kyle Dubas replied with a simple picture.

To be blunt, the comment wasn't just pedantic, but immature. Kyle Dubas doesn't use his X account often, and he received a ton of praise for this one.

One of the biggest sore point for Pittsburgh Penguins fans this season besides likely missing the playoffs, is that Jake Guentzel was traded away. It was viewed as an admission that the 2023-24 was over. A recent report stated the Pittsburgh Penguins may get Jake Guentzel back this off-season. Josh Yohe of the Athletic told fans not to be surprised if there's a reunion between the Penguins and Guentzel, who will be a free agent, over the summer.
