Ryan Ellis requests trade out of Nashville.. wait.. what? Epic troll job by NASCAR racer
Tuesday's announcement that Nashville Predators defenseman Ryan Ellis would be sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks due to injury was a tough one to stomach for Preds fans. When Ryan Ellis tweeted "Trade me please" on the Predators' official announcement, it threw people into a panic... until they realized it was not the same Ryan Ellis.
NASCAR racer Ryan Ellis is both verified on Twitter and has a picture of the Stanley Cup in his profile, which was enough to trick some into assuming the whole situation was real.
Obviously, it was an epic troll job, and patrons on Twitter actually took it pretty well when they put 2 and 2 together and realized that the whole thing was a farce after seeing "@ryanellisracing" as NASCAR Ellis' Twitter handle.
NASCAR Ellis (yep.. it's a thing now) also posted this dandy, as he admired his work.
