The Florida Panthers dominated en route to a massive win in the teams first game after the trade deadline, but it wasn't all good for one of their top acquisitions.
Vladimir Tarasenko stars in the Panthers victory
During the game, Tarasenko netted two goals and an assist with a +3 differential in his debut, a 5-1 victory over the Calgary Flames, a massive sign of things to come for the Stanley Cup favourites.
While that was good, it wasn't all positive for the veteran winger, as his actions resulted in an injury to a key veteran teammate.
Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad leaves game with lower-body injury
-
Early in the game with both Tarasenko and Aaron Ekblad going for the puck, the two collided, causing the veteran blue liner to immediately leave the game with a lower-body injury.
-
It obviously wasn't intentional, so there won't be any bad blood between the two teammates, but it's another tough break for Ekblad, who has dealt with many injury issues over the past few years.
