It's just about the worst luck he could have, and he knows it. Mikhail Sergachev of the Tampa Bay Lightning has released a statement on social media after being stretchered off the ice during a game against the New York Rangers last night. He's clearly very frustrated and annoyed by what happened.

Lightning's Sergachev Gives Passionate Update on his Injury

Sergachev has been dealing with injuries all season long, and was playing in his first game since mid-December last night when he went down awkwardly, catching his left leg underneath him and bending it in a way legs shouldn't bend. Sergachev said he simply can't believe it.

"Oh man, why me? Why now? After all the games missed, coming back and getting injured again, feels unfair, feels terrible. Trying to stay calm and positive, but it's impossible. After doing everything right I get this. The universe is unpredictable I guess, and has its own plans, but fuck the universe man, I know I'll come back stronger and I know I'll play better than before, but it's tough right now, and it's gonna be tough tomorrow. We all fight our own battles and this is mine. I'll win, always do. Pain meds are good tho, if I was in the forest by myself I'd be dead, crazy innit?! Wanted to write how I feel here, don't know why, but just wanted to let people that care about me know! I appreciate all of your messages. Thanks to the medical staff."

Sergachev Expresses Frustration in a Passionate Update Following an Injury

It will be a few days before we know exactly how long Sergachev will miss. However, as you can see in the video below, it doesn't look good for the young defenceman. Considering we're already into February, Sergachev would be lucky to be back in time for the playoffs with how this looks.

Sergachev has played 34 games in 2023-24, scoring 2 goals and 19 points.
