During the press conference held today, the London Chief of Police revealed exactly why the investigation into the 2018 World Junior Scandal has taken so long.

London Chief of Police Reveals Original Case Dropped Due to Lack of Evidence

The ongoing investigation into the 2018 Team Canada World Junior case has been under the microscope for some time, which has left many questions from the public as to why it has been taking so long to come to a conclusion. Now, the Chief of Police in London has revealed the reason, that the original investigation did not turn up enough evidence to lay a charge.

London police chief Thai Truong said the department's original investigation into the 2018 world junior hockey players was closed due to "insufficient grounds to lay a charge"

The Chief of Police in London used his time during the press conference to apologize to the victim for the investigation taking so long, as they were forced to review the outcome of the original investigation.

London Police Chief Thai Truong extends his "sincerest" apology to the victim of the alleged s***** a****** committed by members of the 2018 Canadian world junior team and her family "for the amount of time that it has taken to reach this point."

Ongoing Case Has Confirmed Players Involved

The ongoing case has been murky from the get-go, but now there has been clarity as to who has been charged with what. In total, 5 players were charged in the investigation. Michael McLeod (2 counts), Alex Formenton (1 count), Carter Hart (1 count), Callan Foote (1 count), and Dillon Dube (1 count) have all been charged with s***** a******.

There is clearly going to be more information revealed as the case goes through the legal proceedings, and we will update as it comes forward.
