In breaking news, the Pittsburgh Penguins have just shared a tragic message on behalf of Jason Spezza, announcing the passing of his younger brother.

Spezza's Younger Brother Matthew Passes Away

It is with a heavy heart that we are sharing the Pittsburgh Penguins post today regarding Jason Spezza's younger brother Matthew. Matthew passed away over the weekend due to an accidental overdose. Here is the statement released by Jason and the Penguins.

On behalf of my family, it is with the heaviest of hearts that I share that my younger brother, Matthew, passed away due to an accidental overdose over the weekend. My family and I are heartbroken and ask for privacy during this difficult time.
