A three-way trade between the Ducks, Sharks and Sens

Per TSN's Frank Seravalli, we have a three way trade between the San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, and the Ottawa Senators. Forward Jack Kopacka and a Sharks seventh-round pick in 2022 will be heading to the Senators, while defenceman Christian Jaros will head to the Sharks, and defenceman Trevor Carrick will head to the Ducks.

Jaros, 24, has been a depth defender for the Senators the past two seasons. The Slovakian native, who was drafted in the fifth-round (139 overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft saw his first NHL action during the 2017-18 season, appearing in two games. The following season saw him play in a career high 61 NHL games, where he scored a goal and added nine helpers. This past season saw him suit up for 13 games with the Senators where he was held pointless, and 34 games in the AHL for the Belleville Senators where he registered two goals and 15 points. He has not appeared in any games this season.

Kopacka, 22, has spent the majority of the past two seasons in the AHL. He was drafted in the fourth-round (93 overall) by the Anaheim Ducks in 2016 after a season with the Soo Greyhounds in the OHL in which he scored 20 goals and 43 points. He went on to play two more seasons with Soo before turning pro in 2018-19. Last season saw him score seven goals and 15 points in 37 games with the Gulls. He also appeared in five ECHL games last season with the Tulsa Oilers where he had four goals and eight points.

Carrick, 26, has played the majority of the past six seasons in the AHL. The journeyman defenceman was a Carolina Hurricanes draft pick, being selected in the fourth-round (115 overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. During his five years in the Hurricanes organization, he appeared in four NHL games but was held pointless. He was then traded to the Sharks during the 2019 offseason, and appeared in a career high three NHL games with them last season, but was once again held off the scoresheet. He also played in 48 games last season with the San Jose Barracuda in the AHL where he put up 10 goals and 23 points.
