Blues become latest team to allow fans at games

The St. Louis Blues announced on Wednesday that they will allow 1,400 people in attendance starting February 2nd against the Arizona Coyotes.

The club had been allowing a small number of frontline health workers, as well as family and friends of players, coaches, and team employees.

"Our team looks forward to bringing fans back to enjoy Blues hockey with us in person when we return home," said St. Louis Blues President of Business Operations and CEO Chris Zimmerman. "Through the partnership with local health officials and the continued compliance of safety protocols by all members of our team and staff, this marks an important step in responsibly returning our dedicated fans to Enterprise Center. We can't wait to see and hear more of them back in the stands."

St. Louis joins Arizona, Dallas, and Florida who have hosted fans since the start of the season, while Tampa Bay delayed their plans to host fans until early February due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the area. Columbus and Pittsburgh are exploring the possibility of hosting fans as early as next month.

The Blues currently sit second in the Honda West Division with a record of 4-2-1. On Thursday, they'll face the Vegas Golden Knights for a second straight game.

It's worth noting that 114 people died of COVID-19 in Missouri Tuesday.
