The Pittsburgh Penguins have become the third team in a 24-hour span to cancel team practice and scrimmage after potentially becoming exposed to the COVID-19 virus, NHL.com's Wes Crosby announced on Saturday.
There is no confirmation at this time as to whether or not anyone on the team has actually tested positive, or whether the exposure was high risk or low risk, but either way, the team is taking "an abundance of caution" to avoid a potential outbreak in the locker room.
The news comes just a day after the Dallas Stars announce a slew of positive cases in their locker room with both players and other team personnel, leading to the postponement of several regular season games as a precaution.
The Columbus Blue Jackets were the other NHL squad to cancel festivities on Friday.
No word yet on when/if the Penguins can resume their training camp and we may not know on Saturday.
