The Anaheim Ducks announced on Friday that defenceman Brendan Guhle will miss six weeks with an MCL sprain. The Ducks will likely place Guhle on injured reserve as soon as January 13th.
Guhle, 23, was drafted in the second round, 51st overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded from Buffalo to Anaheim in February of 2019 along with a first round pick, in exchange for defenceman Brandon Montour.
In 59 career games, Guhle has put up 14 points (4 G, 10 A), 24 penalty minutes, and is a -9.
Prior to turning pro, Guhle spent four seasons with the Prince Albert Raiders, and Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League. In 233 regular season games, he tallied 103 points (30 G, 73 A), 150 penalty minutes, and was a -3. In 16 playoff games, he had 11 points (1 G, 10 A), 10 penalty minutes, and was a +3.
Guhle is the older brother of Montreal Canadiens prospect, Kaiden Guhle, who just represented Canada at the 2021 World Juniors.
