Per New York Post's Larry Brooks, the New York Rangers have reached out to Brian Boyle and are considering offering him a contract for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

Boyle, 36, spent five seasons with the Rangers from 2009-2014. Last season saw him suit up for 39 games with the Florida Panthers in which he had six goals and 15 points in 39 games. He also suited up for all four of the team's playoff contests, where he chipped in with one goal. Brooks added that the Rangers' need for a centerman who is great on draws is the main reason they have considered the veteran forward, who has been over 50% on faceoffs in each of his last nine seasons in the league.

As mentioned, Boyle has already spent plenty of time with the Rangers throughout his 805-game career. He has also played with the L.A. Kings, Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators, and most recently the Florida Panthers. He currently sits at 130 goals and 231 points in his NHL career.
