It seems almost sacrilegious even to mention it, but a comment from Pittsburgh Penguins President and GM Kyle Dubas suggests Sidney Crosby could be playing for another team some time this season.
Penguins Struggles May Leave Dubas Little Option but to Trade Crosby
After not making the playoffs last season, the Penguins cleared out their front office, hiring Dubas to call the shots. Almost halfway through the season, the team looks to be on its to barely making it, or missing once again. Dubas was recently asked whether he's going to blow things up if or when that happened.
"I have my expectations of the group now, and I have my responsibility in the long run when it comes to how we're going to dictate our course. I'm going to give the players and the coaching staff as much time as possible
"So I'm just by nature not going to make any decisions based on how we do this week or next week. When we get through the All-Star break, and on the other side of that, we'll have a better idea of what we are as a group and where we need to go. Do we need some help, or do we need to have a deeper discussion about where we're at as a club?"

Could Crosby be Somewhere Other than Pittsburgh Before this Season Ends?
Dubas isn't exactly tipping his hand, but there certainly seems to be at least a bit of a hint there. Pittsburgh's owners have made it clear that they want this team to win now, but trying that over and over with no success would be insane. If Dubas gets the go ahead to blow things up, Crosby is having a stellar season despite the team's struggles, and would fetch a massive price on the trade market.
