Steven Stamkos, who is a leader and veteran sniper for the Tampa Bay Lightning is currently without a contract extension for next season. TSN Insider Pierre LeBrun reveals exactly what could happen with him.

LeBrun Hints That Stamkos Will Be Staying with the Lightning and Getting an Extension

Pierre Lebrun believes the Tampa Bay Lightning and F Steven Stamkos WILL reach a contract agreement, but no discussions will occur until the season is complete

Stamkos has played very well so far this season with 35 total points through 32 games. Those numbers are good for third on the team behind Nikita Kuckerov and Brayden Point.

Stamkos is one of the rare players who spends his entire career with one team. He was the first overall draft pick for the Lightning in 2008. Through his career he has scored 530 goals and has 1091 points, playing in 1035 games. He is a two-time Rocket Richard winner as well as two-time Stanley Cup Champion as captain of the Lightning.
