Capitals Fans Call on Ovechkin to Retire After Another Loss

Capitals fans are extremely upset after they dropped another game the other night to the Dallas Stars, and some fans are going as far as calling for Ovi to retire.

Washington Capitals Drop Another Game In Struggling Year



The Washington Capitals are having a so-so year, sitting in the middle of the Metro division standings. After another loss on Thursday night to the Dallas Stars, fans are starting to feel the pressure of a mediocre year. Some are going as far as calling for Capitals Star and face of the franchise Alexander Ovechkin to retire.

Alex Ovechkin needs to sit out some games or retire. He has slowed tremendously. His hands have regressed and he can't score on breakaways? It's sad but his game is over. @LukeAdomanis @Tarik_ElBashir


I think I say this once a game, but it's stunning how slow and just not put together Alex Ovechkin is out there. He can't smoothly handle any pucks and looks like he's skating in mud.


It is crazy to think that the Capitals have come to the point where they are starting to give up on their main leader who has bene the face of the team for nearly 20 years.

Ovechkin has undoubtedly struggled over the past few weeks, having just 2 assists in the last 7 games and 5 goals in 22 games this season. Despite that, he has reached a major milestone of 1500 points in his NHL career.
