MAJOR: Several Teams Eyeing Corey Perry

There can always be redemption in the NHL, as long as you're a good enough player.

According to one Insider, whatever happened with Corey Perry in Chicago to get him dropped from his contract won't be a deterrent for other teams looking to add to their rosters.

At 38, Perry isn't the player he once was, but there's no denying what he could add to a roster looking to make a playoff run. He is a Stanley Cup Champion, four-time NHL All-Star, and has won the Rocket Richard and Hart Memorial trophies. It's not necessarily surprising that team would be at least kicking the tires on a potential deal.

While all of the details have yet to come out, it seems an alcohol-fueled incident at a team event involving a Blackhawks staff member led to Perry's demise in Chicago. Unless there are criminal charges involved, and there's no indication of that, Perry is a free agent and NHL teams are free to sign him.
