The Patrick Kane sweepstakes is picking up some major momentum as the former All-Star nears a return from hip surgery.
Sunday night, on TSN's Insider Trading
, Darren Drager noted that the week ahead for the veteran winger includes meetings with coaches and front office personnel with the thought that the whittling down process will begin in earnest in the coming days.
From there, the NHL Insider said, it could be a matter of just a week before we know where Kane's landing spot will be.
"The list is less than 10 teams. It's probably closer to eight teams and they're going to try and cut that down as early as the weekend and they hope to have a final decision perhaps in place early next week."
After 16 seasons with the Blackhawks, Kane was traded to the Rangers where he scored five goals and had seven assists in 19 games.
He would go on to add a goal and five assists in the postseason but would undergo surgery following the Rangers first-round departure.
DO YOU THINK KANE IS STILL A TOP-6 PLAYER?
